Without valves, no chemical factory, no refinery, no power plant and no domestic drinking water supply could be operated. It is only through valves that it becomes possible to realize the planned process in a plant or in a pipeline system.

Against this background, it is not surprising that the German valve industry, with sales of around 12 billion euros and 42,000 employees, is one of the most important branches of the German mechanical and plant engineering industry.

The VDMA Valves Association the network of the valve industry, in which with over 170 companies almost all important manufacturers of building and industry valves have joined together. This is where people meet, exchange experiences and form opinions on current and technical issues; an important basis for determining one's own position.

The VDMA Valves Association is the mouthpiece of the valve industry and represents the interests of its member companies at national and international institutions, vis-à-vis legislators, authorities, supplier and customer organizations and exerts influence on technical regulations.

The VDMA Valves Association informs and advises its member companies on all product-specific matters, thus creating a solid basis for business decisions. Its services include industry statistics, economic and market information, trade fair analyses, technical guidelines, research promotion, and press and public relations work.

The general meeting of members, the board of directors and the working groups of the trade association are the bodies in which the goals, tasks and concrete focal points of the work of the trade association are defined and offer the opportunity to exert a direct influence on the activities of the association. The scope and benefits of the specific services offered are therefore directly related to the commitment and requirements of the member companies.
